The Mall
By: Josephine Chang
The first time I went to the Roseville Mall was one of the most terrifying and magical experiences I have ever had. Terrifying because of the insane prices and magical because of the beauty and wonder there was. Here is a monologue of the entire experience:
Entering through the automatic doors of the giant, gleaming castle was an honor in itself. The marble flooring glittered and shone with brightness. The castle was many stories high and could hold an entire football field and more. The castle was filled with many shops and fine dining places, McDonald’s, Buckhorn, Panda Express, Mongolian BBQ, and Buckhorn. Did I mention Buckhorn?!
Buckhorn is the best grill ever. The burgers there are juicy and tasty, but not so much so that it overwhelms you. The meat is euphoric and the buns! Oh the buns! They are the best part of the burger. They are crisp and doughy, succulent and not at all airy. The lettuce blended nicely to add a clean touch and the tomato added a freshness that made you wonder if it was actually a tomato. The tomato tasted like a tomato, but not so much like a tomato! The burger is good by itself, but the sauces! Oh the sauces on the side! If you add in a little ketchup and BBQ sauce, oh-oh-OH! You will be in heaven just by tasting it.
After I finished that burger that was off of Heaven’s grill, I went to a store that goes by the name of Abercrombie. I entered the unknown land and glimpsed around. There. I spotted something, the cutest coral-colored, spaghetti-strapped, floral-lace dress! I immediately went into the dressing room to try it on and it fit like a glove! Darlings, it made me swoon. I checked the price tag and—-promptly threw the dress on the floor where it belonged. $60? Being a poor peasant like myself, I would never purchase a rag for the price of 7 Buckhorn burgers.
I escaped from the dungeon of poverty and temptation to only find myself at a place called Love Culture. Such a small store. Such a plain store. Learning my lesson the first time, I checked the price tags beforehand. I found an adorable blue dress that reached to my feet. It was $15. Not bad. Not bad at all. I tried it on…… Uh… It made me look quite funny. It accentuated the fact that I’m a walking rectangle. I left in a haze and escaped from the store of funky-fitting outfits.
Feeling peckish, I found myself at a pretzel shop. The buttery smell drew me to the shop. I smelled butter, salt, dough and cinnamon. Oh the delicacies I saw. I ordered a bag of cinnamon pretzel bites and fell. When I fall, I fall HARD. The sweetness, the doughy-ness, the deliciousness.
YOU CAN’T JUDGE ME. I can’t help that I’m a foodie. Food is just too good~~!!!
